Water

  • It is recommended that you turn the water off when you leave for more than a couple of days.
  • The water shut-off for each unit is located above the water heater in your unit.

Natural Gas

  • In the event of an earthquake, the natural gas will be automatically shut off to the building. Upon service being restored, PSE (Puget Sound Energy) will enter each unit to confirm that pilot lights are lit (where applicable).
  • Gas stoves and cooktops – There is a shut-off either in the cabinet next to the stove or behind the stove. You should locate the shut-off, so you know where it is prior to an emergency.
  • Fireplace – There is a shut-off in the surround of your fireplace. A “key” is required to turn off the valve. Keep the key near the fireplace in case of emergency.

First Aid

  • First Aid kits are in each building’s stairwell closest to the elevator (stairwell #5 and #6) on the 4th, 7th and 10th floors. You should familiarize yourself with their location. They are there for emergencies.
  • Consider having your own First Aid kit to ensure the items you need are available.
